working toward a mock turtle

Image
I've been doing drawings and studies of cows and turtles, all in an effort to make myself a good mock turtle.

Yay! It passed muster!

Will the new bunny make the grade?

Okay, after trying to avoid it, after tears and protestations (she insisted on a white bunny on yellow or orange), here's the new bunny. The only question is: will my daughter accept it?

Baby rabbit on pink with moss

My daughter was home sick today --we're hoping it isn't scarlet fever again-- so I was really surprised that I got time to paint today. My daughter ordered a white rabbit on yellow for her birthday, and cried when she saw this one. Oh well, guess I'll have to try again! Luckily, I still have a couple of days... I remember when I was a child that pink and green were popular "preppy" colors, and I had a reaction against the mixture in the 90s. Then I went on a trip to New Mexico, and fell in love with the pink and green soft mountains there. It's been a favorite color combination ever since.

New Sea Turtle Painting

After fishing around for hours for just the right turtle model, I finally found it on Wikipedia. Gotta love Wikipedia.

My animation, Safe Painting Dream, made the "sélection officielle" for the 2010 Dérapage in Montreal! Yay! http://derapage.ca/ Thanks to Chris Nuzum, for helping me figure out how to meet the committee's DVD requirements, and to Laurent Bonetto for creating a 48 mHz sound track....
